What's your style?

If I could raid any celebrities closet it would have to be Kate Middleton's. I love her classic style. I do not usually try to copy an exact outfit a celebrity has I just use it as inspiration. Some may say that I am overdressed for teaching kindergarten but it is how I feel the most comfortable.

It is important to define your style. It will save you money if you know what you have and know yourself and what you like to wear. I cannot tell you how much money I wasted in college buying trendy pieces I wore once or twice only to sit in my closet until I finally mustered up the courage to sell or donate them.

I want to hear from you. Who inspires you? If money were no object whose wardrobe would you like to have?

Back to School Note

Yesterday was my first day away from my three month old baby girl. During my professional development day I was worrying about whether I had found the right sitter, if she had enough milk for the day, how she was doing, and if she even missed me since she is only three months old. I love my job as a teacher but ever since one of my close friends announced her resignation a couple of weeks ago I have found myself feeling guilty. I feel torn because I have always loved teaching but I love my new role as mommy as well.  My friend shared this on Facebook and I felt it was important to share this with you. http://laurenpinkston.com/2014/07/18/for-the-back-to-school-teacher-mom/

My favorite quote from Lauren’s post

Love well the person in front of you. Whether you are choosing to work because you love it or because it’s a financial necessity, when you are at work, be present there”

Welcome back to school!

May God bless you with a wonderful first day and first week of school.

About Me

Welcome!

My name is Megan and I am a kindergarten teacher and new mom in Kansas City, Missouri. My goal for this blog is to inspire my fellow teachers and or moms who are on a tight budget but still want to have great style. I have learned to be a shopping detective, searching for hidden gems in unlikely places. My favorite places to shop are Target, T.J. Maxx, Kohl's, Savers, and my newest fave Goodwill. I will also be posting tips I have learned from magazines, other blogs, and Pinterest to help you make the most of the wardrobe you already have.
